Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge Users will directly get the Android 7.1.1 Nougat update
Even though the android 7.0 Nougat has been around for quite sometime now, most devices have still not gotten the update yet except for Nexus devices, some Motorolas and a few other devices. Samsung is also still yet to release the Nougat update for its devices but it has been running a beta program through which selected users can test beta builds of Android 7.0 on their Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 edge.
According to a member of XDA and also one of the beta testers of the Samsung Galaxy beta program, Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge users might not be getting the android 7.0 update but will be getting the version 7.1.1 Nougat update instead. He even posted a screenshot to back it up.
The upcoming android 7.1.1 Nougat update for Samsung S7 users will come with some new features such as the ability to send GIFs directly from the keyboard in selected apps, a new set of emoji, and also ability to add app shortcuts directly to the home screen. There will also be long press option which will let users launch actions on apps like Twitter and Google Maps.
Although there hasn't been an official date as to when the update will be officially released to Samsung users but it's expected to be released early next year.
