Linshof’s i8 is a Lollipop-Powered Octa-Core Smartphone with 80GB of Internal Storage

Every now and then, a company comes along with a smartphone that’s pretty out there and bizarrely enough they’re often from manufacturers you’ve never even heard of. Sticking true to that rhetoric is the Linshof i8 a device which, as you will have noticed above, looks a little different from your average smartphone and it’s also a little different on the inside, with the odd one out on its spec sheet being 80GB of internal storage. That’s right, from the German tech firm known for producing budget-minded Desktop PCs comes this, the i8.

On top of all that, the i8 features a 5-inch Super AMOLED display with a Full HD resolution and an Octa-Core CPU clocked at 2.1 Ghz backed up with 3GB of RAM. This is a device that seemingly come out of nowhere and is said to be running Android 5.0 Lollipop, with a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera as well as an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. Powered by a 3,100 mAh battery. This guy features pretty much everything you want in a smartphone, including a unique design and a bucket load of internal storage and 4G support to boot. Perhaps the only turn off is the bizarre looking skin that Linshof has put on top of Android 5.0, but at just $380 US, we’re sure many of you can overlook that as well, especially as Linshof have said that the i8 comes with “no added trialware. No in-phone advertisements—the clean and lean system has been carefully tweaked for this specific hardware.”

As you might have imagined, this is a device that won’t be available until early next year, with Linshof stating a release of Q1 2015, which leads us to believe that this all could be too good to be true. We’ll have to wait and see if the company is serious about releasing this device and if the company can produce good hardware as well as just fancy-looking product renders. Hopefully, early 2015 will see the launch of something a little different in the smartphone world as things are beginning to look pretty similar across the board. Let us know what you think down below, is this too good to be true or do you have faith?
