How To Format Your Mediatek (MTK) Smartphone With SP Flash Tool
This is just going to be a very Short tutorial for those who are having issues formatting their mediatek device.
So am just going to guide you through a detailed but short procedure on how to format your mtk phone using sp flash tool.
But before you proceed with this method, make sure you have the sp flash able format of your stock ROM or your phone's full firmware as this method will format both user and system partition.
Requirements:
=> A PC
=> USB Cord
=> VCOM drivers on the PC. You can check out guide on how to install it HERE.
=> The phone you want to format. (Make sure it's an mtk phone).
=> The phones stock ROM with scatter file.
=> SP Flash tool. Download HERE.
=> A PC

How To Format Mtk Device With SP Flash Tool
=> Make sure the phone you want to format is turned off.
=> Extract the downloaded sp flash tool.
=> Open the extracted flash tool folder and launch flash tool.exe.
=> Make sure the phone you want to format is turned off.
=> Extract the downloaded sp flash tool.
=> Open the extracted flash tool folder and launch flash tool.exe.
=> Click on scatter loading at the top right corner of sp flash.
=> Locate you device stock ROM folder and open scatter.txt file.
=> Now click on the format tab at the top.
=> Now select both "auto format" and "format whole flash without bootloader".
*Make sure you don't select "format whole flash".
=> Now click on the format tab at the top.
=> Now select both "auto format" and "format whole flash without bootloader".
*Make sure you don't select "format whole flash".
=> Now click on start and connect your already turned off phone.
=> Just wait until the formatting is completed and you should get a confirmation message.
That's all guys.

Note: Now your phone is empty and it won't even boot up. So you have to flash the stock ROM into your smartphone to start using it.

Actually I have selected "format whole flash" in the formating opthions

ReplyDeleteFor those who mistakenly selected "format whole flash", just download the full firmware for your smartphone and flash it with the "firmware upgrade option....

It won't display anything until you re flash the ROM
