Finally! The much awaited iOS 10 is now available for everyone. Although the new OS has been available in beta version for the public and developer testers for some months now, the steady version is now available for all users with compatible devices.
This new iOS 10 release features like a newer music player with apple radio integrated, better security enhancement, redesigned home screen for controlling internet enabled devices, siri now integrated with third party apps, apple pay support on the web, updated versions of Apple Maps, Apple Music, Apple News, i Messages, and Photos. There is a also a raise to wake feature among other things.
Below is the list of Eligible Devices.
Two Ways To Download And Install iOS 10
It's advisable to perform a backup to either I cloud or your computer before you go ahead with the upgrade incase anything goes wrong.
Through OTA update: This is the most common and by far the easiest way to update your i device.
Normally you should have receive a pop up message by now. If you have then click on details but if you haven't,
=> Go to Settings >> General and click on the software update button.
=> Click on download and follow the on-screen instructions.
2. Manual Upgrade Through iTunes: This is also another method of upgrading your i device to iOS 10. This method requires a PC though and also considering the number of complaints about device getting bricked while trying to perform OTA upgrade, I will recommend this method.
=> Connect your device to your computer.
=> Launch iTunes and search for your device.
=> You should receive a prompt asking you to upgrade but in case you don't, just click the "Check for update" button.
=> Click on "download and update" button and your download should start almost immediately.
Those who ordered for the iPhone 7 have nothing to worry about as it will come with ios10 straight out of the box.
