Nexus 9 Android 7.1.1 update released for T-Mobile users
When it comes to firmware upgrade, the Nexus smartphone line always have the edge over other Smartphone manufacturers. While other top android smartphone brands are still struggling to push out the android 7.0 Nougat update which was released months ago to their smartphones, some Nexus 9 tablets have already started receiving the android 7.1.1 update which was recently released barely a week ago.
Some carrier branded Nexus 9 such as the T-Mobile has also started receiving the update. For those who are on the T-Mobile carrier brand, the new update is expected to come with December security patch, bug fixes and also a few improvements.
Some other top smartphone manufacturers like Samsung and Motorola are planning to skip the android 7.0 and update their device to the android 7.1 Nougat instead. But that doesn't mean users will get it anytime soon as most of them don't plan on releasing the update anytime this year.
Sony has also started releasing the OTA update to Nougat for the Xperia X and X Compact. The Xperia Z5 is expected to be the next Sony smartphone to receive the Nougat update.
For those whose smartphone is already obsolete and is not listed among the smartphones to receive the Nougat update, you can check out CyanogenMod 14 as the devs are trying to release the android 7.1.1 custom ROM for a lot of Smartphones.
