Honor 8 To Start receiving Android 7.0 Nougat update starting January 16

Sometime last year, Huawei announced that the android 7.0 Nougat update will be rolled out to its honor 8 Smartphone by February of 2017, but now it looks like Huawei is going to be releasing the update earlier than initially scheduled.
According to an announcement by Huawei Japan, the android 7.0 Nougat and EMUI 5.0  will start rolling out to Honor 8 on the 16th of January. The update is expected to be rolled out incrementally, which means users will receive the update in batch and it might take up to a month before all honor 8 users in Japan gets the update.

The update is most likely going to be pushed to all unlocked honor 8 devices and the file size is expected to be 1.97GB. For those in the US, you might still have to wait a little longer as the update is not likely to come until February.
Huawei has also advised that Honor 8 users should backup their files and also make sure they have at least 50% battery life before they try updating their device.

Honor 8 users should also expect more features aside the ones that regularly comes with the android 7.0 Nougat such as addition of system optimizations, stability improvements and better app versatility.

As I said earlier, this update is incremental and it's most likely going to start in Japan first. So if you happen to reside in other part of the world, they you might probably have to wait a little bit more.
