Android O Developer Preview now available to download

Google has just released a preview version of the latest Android O. This is actually the first Android O developer's preview version to be made available for public download.
But just as the name describes, this is the developer's preview which means it's targeted majorly at developer's and not the regular users. So if you are downloading, then you should expect lots of bugs, instability and also performance issues.

The Android O developer's preview is currently available for download for those using Google Pixel, Google Pixel XL, Google Pixel C, Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, and Nexus Player.

To install the Android O developer's preview on your phone, download the system images via the first link below, you can also check out the release notes, including list of bugs and issues you may likely encounter from the second link below.

At the moment, there is no final name for the Android O but speculations has it that it might be called Android 8.0 Oreo. Below is the list of new features you should be expecting from the Android O.
  • => Enhanced notifications (with users getting "fine-grained control over different kinds of notification")
  • => App background limits (for improved battery life)
  • => Picture in Picture (PIP) display - enabling actions like watching a video while chatting or using other apps
  • => Adaptive icons
  • => Wide-gamut color for apps
  • => Support for high-quality Bluetooth audio codecs

The fact that google is already rolling out the developer's preview of the Android O means that it wouldn't take too long before the official version starts rolling out.
