Motorola Moto Z Finally Receiving the Android 7.1.1 Nougat Update
Finally! After the long wait, Motorola has started releasing the Android 7.1.1 Nougat update to Moto Z users in Hong Kong and Indonesia.
The Motorola Moto Z was released some time last year with the Android 6.0 Marshallow and was later updated to Android 7.0.
If you receive the update notification on your phone, make sure you have a strong WiFi or mobile data connection. Also make sure your battery is charged to up to 50% or better still, connected to a power outlet.
If you haven't received the update notification yet, then you can go ahead and update manually by going to Settings > About Phone > Software updates. If you have a very strong network connection, the update process shouldn't take more than 10 to 20 minutes.
The update comes with the July 2017 security patch, the Duo video chat app, the ability to send GIFs directly from the keyboard on apps like Google Allo, Google Messenger and Hangouts, the use of round icons and more.
For now, there is no official statement if the Moto Z Droid users in the United States will also receive the latest Android 7.1.1 nougat update or if they will directly get the Android O update instead.
