WhatsApp Live Location Feature is now available on Android and iOS Devices

The live location feature is something WhatsApp has been working on for quite sometime now and now the Facebook owned company has officially announced that the feature is now available to both android and iOS devices.

According to WhatsApp, the feature will be slowly rolled out worldwide in the coming weeks so it might take time before it get to all users.

With the new live location feature, users will be able to share their location in real-time with family and friends. It's also an end-to-end encrypted feature which means users will be able to control who they share their location with and for how long.

To use the new Live Location feature, just open a chat with the person or group you want to share your location with, tap the Location option and choose to “Share Live Location.”

In terms of privacy, you will be able to choose for how long you want to share your location and which persons to receive the information in real-time. Also, if more than one person shares their Live Location in a group at the same time, all locations will be visible on the same map.

The new live location feature is a server side update which means you don't have to update your current WhatsApp version as the feature will be automatically activated by WhatsApp.
