Gmail App for iOS Updated with Support for iPhone X and option to add third-party email accounts
The notch on the new iPhone X has not only been a problem to users but also to developers who have to design apps for the device putting the notch into consideration as Apple clearly stated that all developers developing Apps for the smartphone has to work with notch as it can't be ignored or blacked out.
Google has also been updating it's Apps to properly support Apple's iPhone X and its unusual 5.8‑inch Super Retina screen. The latest Google app to receive an update is the Gmail App.
The new updated comes with a few added features and improvements, as well as support for iPhone X and it's notch even though that wasn't mentioned in the changelog, but once you update the app, you will notice that both sides of the notch is now in use.
One other awesome feature that was included in this latest update is the ability to add a third party (Non Gmail) email to your Gmail app. This feature has been available on the android version of the app for a few years now so it's surprising that the iOS version is just getting this.
Although the update was being released in batches, we expect it to be available for all regions now. If you haven't updated your Gmail app yet, then head over to the App store or click on the iTunes link here.
