Mozilla Releases Firefox 58 for Android with Faster Load time, FLAC and PWA support
The Mozilla Firefox browser for Android has just received a new update with lots of newly added features and improvements. Mozilla has just improved the way caches and JavaScript is handled on the latest Firefox 58 and this should translate into a faster page loading time.
The update also features a new full-screen bookmark management with folder support as well as support for FLAC (free lossless audio codec) playback and the ability to change the status bar color in themes. You also have the option to Sync only over non-metered connections such as Wi-Fi.
The browser now also supports Progressive Web Apps(PWA) which means you'll now be able to add a website or link as app on your phone's home screen and access it directly by clicking on the icon. This feature is however available only for websites that support PWA only (you'll see a house-shaped button in your address bar).
There are also some major bug fixes included in this new update like performance issue whereby some installations were initially slow to load pages. The new Mozilla Firefox 58 is now available for download on Google Play Store.
