Unlocked and US Carriers Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017) to Receive Android 8 Oreo Update Soon

Both the unlocked and U.S carrier locked version of Samsung phones eligible for the Oreo update like the Galaxy S7, S8, Note 8 and a few mid range smartphones have been updated to the latest Android 8 Oreo. The next smartphone on the line to receive the Oreo update is the Galaxy J7 (2017).

The Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017) which was launched last year was spotted at the Wi-Fi Alliance with Android 8.0 Oreo on board. This suggests that the smartphone will receive Oreo update soon.

Base on the model numbers, the Samsung Galaxy J7 2017 carrier locked variants expected to receive the Oreo update are SM-J727AZ (Galaxy J7 Halo – Cricket), SM-J727T1 (Galaxy J7 Sky Pro – MetroPCS), SM-J727T (Galaxy J7 Sky Pro – T-Mobile), and SM-J727A (Galaxy J7 2017 – AT&T). The unlocked Galaxy J7 2017 with model number SM-J727U was also spotted on the list.

So if you happen to own the Galaxy J7 (2017) smartphone then expect the Oreo update soon. Although no release date has been announced yet but the update is expected to start rolling out by next month August.
