Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 Officially Unveiled with Up to 10GB RAM, Slider and 5G - Full Specification and Price in Nigeria Europe

The Xiaomi's Mi MIx series is no doubt one of the pioneers of bezeless smartphone design, since the launch of the Xiaomi Mi Mix, the company has continued pushing boundaries with the bezeless display and now with the launch of the new MI Mix 3, Xiaomi has just taken the bezeless screen design to a whole new level.
The new Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 has a 6.4-inch Samsung's Amoled display with a resolution of 2340x1080pixels and 19.5:9 screen aspect ratio. The phone has a massive 93.4% screen-to-body ratio which was achieved by mounting the dual front facing cameras in a magnetic slider. This makes the display flawless with minimal bezels and no notch.

How the slider works is that it seperate the phone's display from the other parts of the phone (including the front facing cameras). This means there is no notch at all and all four corner bezels were slimed down to give the phone a true full screen bezeless impression.
Aside taking selfies, you can customise the slider to do many other things like answer a call, open the shortcuts drawer and hundreds of other apps. You also have six slider tones to select from.

Just like most other 2018 flagship smartphones, the new Mi Mix 3 is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 845 chipset. It is coupled with a 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage or 8GB RAM with either 128GB or 256GB storage. There is also a special edition known as the "Forbidden City" with a massive 10GB RAM and 256GB of storage.

At the back of the phone is a dual 12MP + 12MP camera with a primary Sony IMX363 sensor with 1.4µm pixel size and f/1.8 aperture lens, while the secondary camera has a 1.0µm pixel size and f/2.4 aperture. The cameras have Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and it's capable of 4K video recording, and 960fps slow-motion. Hidden between the mechanical slider is a 24MP+2MP dual-front facing camera.

The battery on the Mi Mix 3 is just 3,200mAh which is a bit smaller than the 3,400mAh on its predecessor, the Mi Mix 2s. The phone however supports the latest Qualcomm Quick charge 4.0 as well as QI wireless charging and it's comes with a 10W wireless charging pad out of the box. The phone still retains the rear mounted fingerprint scanner which isn't in any way surprising nor disappointing as the new in-screen fingerprint reader technology is not yet reliable or fast enough even on the new Mate 20 Pro.

Pre-order of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 has already began with a starting price of RMB 3,299 ($474/€420/N173,000) for the 6/128GB model, RMB 3,599 ($515/€450/N188,000) for 8/128GB, RMB 3,999 ($575/€505/N210,000) for 8/256GB, and finally the Forbidden city's Palace Museum Edition with 10/256GB goes for RMB 4,999 ($720/€630/N262,000). Shipping of the regular versions is expected to commence on November 1 in China and eventually expand to other regions in the coming weeks.

There is no date yet on when the Forbidden city's edition will start shipping. Xiaomi also mentioned at the unveiling event that the 5G compatible Mi Mix 3 will start shipping in Q1 of 2019.

  1. Technology is improving in insane rate. Trying to catch up on all the latest technology in the market can make someone run mad. If fear the rate with which technology is improving. Very soon we will reach diminishing return if we're not there yet.
