Asus ROG phone 2 announced with Snapdragon 855+, 16GB RAM and 512GB storage, full specs and price
Asus has just announced its second generation gaming smartphone called the Asus ROG phone II, this is the successor to last year's ROG phone. The phone is everything a gamer and any power user will ask for and even more.
The Asus ROG phone II is powered by the fastest Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset ever made coupled with the largest RAM on a modern smartphone as well as the highest refresh rate on an OLED display panel.
The phone sports a 6.6-inch Amoled display with a 120hz refresh rate (90hz and traditional 60hz also available), a resolution of 1080 X 2340 pixels and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It supports 10-bit HDR and boasts of perfect colour accuracy.
Under the hood of the Asus ROG phone II is Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 855+ chipset coupled with Adreno 640 GPU, this gives the phone a 4% CPU performance gain and a 15% GPU boost over the regular Snapdragon 855 chipset. The phone also comes with a 12GB RAM and a non-expandable 500GB storage.
In terms of camera, the device comes with the same dual rear camera setup as on the Zenfone 6 which consists of the main 48MP sensor and a 13MP 125° ultra wide angle lens. In the front is a single 24MP selfie camera.
Asus has also packed a massive 6,000mAh battery with the ROG phone II to go with the crazy specs. The battery is expected to give users non-stop play time of up to 7.5 hours of Arena of Valor, or 7.1 hours of PUBG Mobile. The phone supports Qualcomm quick charge 4.0 with ROG 30W HyperCharge using a standard 3A cable.
The official price of the phone hasn't been announced yet but Asus is expected to make the international launch of the ROG phone 2 in Europe, USA and other international markets by September 2.
