Guide: How to root and install Twrp recovery on Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro/Redmi K20 Pro [Raphael]

Xiaomi recently launched its 2019 flagship killer in China and in India which is called the Redmi K20 Pro (also known as Xiaomi MI 9T Pro). The phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset with a 6GB or 8GB RAM and it is available in 64GB, 128GB and 256GB storage option.
This is a simple guide on how to install Twrp and also root the Redmi K20 Pro / Mi 9T Pro. In this post you will be shown step by step guide on how to install the latest Twrp recovery as well as how to gain root access by flashing Magisk.

  • Magisk Manager APK: Download Here
  • TWRP recovery for Redmi K20 Pro: Download Here
  • No verity opt Encrypt: Download Here
  • Adb Fastboot tools driver: Download Here

How to Install Twrp Recovery on Redmi K20 Pro / Mi 9T Pro (Raphael)
  • Download the Twrp for Raphael from the link provided above and rename it to twrp.img
  • copy the twrp to your ADB folder located inside your computer hard drive (C:/ drive)
  • Turn off your phone and hold down the power button + volume down simultaneously to reboot into fastboot mode
  • Flash Twrp on your phone by entering the command below
  •             fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
  • Once the twrp has been installed, reboot to recovery by entering the command below
  •       fastboot boot twrp.img
  • Now you have successfully installed Twrp on your Redmi K20 Pro


How to Root Redmi K20 Pro/Mi 9T Pro (Raphael) with Magisk
  • Download the Magisk and no-verity zip files from the links provided above and copy it to your phone internal storage
  • Turn off your phone and reboot into recovery by holding down your power button + volume up simultaneously
  • Once in recovery mode, click on install and select the Magisk Zip
  • Untick "Reboot after installation is complete" and swipe right to install
  • After that, click on install again and select the "no-verity" file
  • Once that is done, go ahead and reboot to system
  • After rebooting, install the Magisk manager if it hasn't been installed already
  • That is all
  • You can confirm if your phone was successfully rooted by downloading Root checker from playstore
