There are definitely times when you are stranded with no data on your SIM and also no airtime to purchase data or even call someone to request for data. MTN has just solved this issue with its new service which it calls MTN Dash-Me-Data.

With this new Dash-Me-Data service from MTN, you will be able to request for data from your family and friends. This is a free service so you can even use it when you have no airtime on your MTN SIM.

How to use the MTN Dash-me-data service to request for data from family and friends

• Dial *131*7*3# on your MTN SIM and enter the number you want to request data from.
• Dial *131*7*4# to view your pending request.

How to send data to family and friends on MTN

There are 4 different methods you can use to send data to your loved ones and I have listed all four methods below.

1. Dial *131*7*1# on your MTN sim and follow the instructions.
2. Dial *131*Phone number*Data amount# E.g *131*08039221010*200#
3. Text Transfer<space>Phone number<space>Data amount and to 131 E.g Text Transfer 08039220110 200 to 131
4. Log into MyMTN App, select ‘bundle’ and select ‘data transfer’
