OnePlus 5/5T now receiving stable Android 10 update (OxygenOS 10)
In October of last year, OnePlus released an update schedule for the OnePlus 6/6T and the OnePlus 5/5T. Where it states the the OnePlus 6 family will be getting the Android 10 update in November 2019, while the OnePlus 5 will be getting the update in Q2 of 2020.
Finally keeping to its promise, OnePlus has finally started rolling out the stable Android 10 update for the OnePlus 5 and the OnePlus 5T.
In a time were most high end Android flagship are limited to just two major updates, the OnePlus 5/5T which is 3 years old already is still getting it's third major update.
The devices were launched in 2017 with the Android 7 Nougat out of the box. It was later updated to Android 8 Oreo in 2018, and Android 9.0 Pie in 2019. Now, it's getting it's third major update which is the Android 10.
The new update comes with all the standard Android 10 features and some OnePlus exclusive features like the new redesigned User Interface, new Game space feature, improved electronic image stabilization (EIS), redesigned gesture navigation and many more. Below is the full changelog.

- Upgraded to Android 10
- Brand new UI design
- Enhanced location permissions for privacy
- New customization feature in the Settings allowing you to choose icon shapes to be displayed in the Quick Settings
Game Space
- New Game Space feature now add all your favorite games in one place for easier access and better gaming experience
Message
- Now possible to block spam by keywords for Message (Messages – Spam – Settings – Blocking settings)
Full Screen Gestures
- Removed back gesture from the bottom of the screen
- Added back gesture on left and right side of the phone
- Added a bottom navigation bar to allow switching left or right for recent apps
Camera
- Electronic image stabilization currently under optimization and will be pushed in later stabler versions.
