Xiaomi officially unveils MIUI 12 - Check out the new features

Xiaomi has just recently unveiled the latest iteration to its custom Android skin which is the MIUI 12. Just like the previous generation of MIUI, this new MIUI 12 is also based on the latest Google  Android 10.

The new MIUI 12 is a total upgrade from the current MIUI 11 with a couple of newly added features and major design changes. One of which is the new flattened User Interface design, there is also a new, faster animation for opening and closing of Apps.

Dark mode was initially introduced in MIUI 11, but a new Dark Mode 2.0- has been included in the latest MIUI 12 which brings wallpaper dimming and font adjustment, Xiaomi claims this will help reduce eye strain and  make reading of texts a lot more easier.

Better App Privacy management was introduced in Android 10 alongside MIUI 11 but this has also been improved in MIUI 12. Now, Xiaomi will track all of your  App and will alert you if any App is trying to abuse the permissions. Xiaomi will also block any App it finds suspicious from accessing your private information.

Xiaomi has always had one of the best gesture navigation of all smartphones and now it is finally adapting the Android 10 gesture navigation. The AON (Always on Display) which is available on most Amoled Xiaomi smartphones is now improved and there is also a new improved quick reply.

All this features and more will be available on the MIUI 12 when it finally launches globally in June of this year. The closed beta version of MIUI 12 is however already available.
