Huawei P20 receives EMUI 10 based Android 10 update

The Huawei P20 has now started receiving the EMUI 10 update which is based on Google's Android 10 operating system.

Huawei launched the P20 in 2018 with Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box and this was later updated to Android 9.0 Pie in 2019. This makes the new Android 10 the second major update for the P20.

At the moment, the EMUI 10 update for the Huawei P20 is rolling out to users in Canada with the Fido carrier. It comes with the version number 10.0.0.161 and weighs in at around 4.6GB.

Some of the new features included in this update are system wide dark mode, gesture navigation, new User Interface and Animation, improved security and many more. 

If you haven't received the update yet, you can manually check by heading over to your Settings -> System & updates -> Software update -> CHECK FOR UPDATES -> Download and install. You can also launch the Hi-Care App, tap on Service -> Update -> CHECK FOR UPDATES -> Download and install.
