WhatsApp working on a new feature for WhatsApp group notifications

Almost everyone of us is in at least one telegram or WhatsApp group. Some might be school related, family, random groups etc. One thing you almost can't deny is that the unlimited messages you get from most groups can be annoying sometimes and fortunately for us, we have the mute option 5o disable notifications.

 

Telegram do give users a whole lot of control over what they can do in a private chat or even in a group. In telegram you can mute a group for as long as you want even if it's forever. This however isn't the same case with WhatsApp.

WhatsApp only give users three options which are either 8 hours, a week or a year. That might however be changing pretty soon as @WABetaInfo just announced that WhatsApp is allegedly working on a new update which will make it possible to mute a WhatsApp group for as long as you want without having to renew after a period of time.

If you are still wondering how to mute a group on WhatsApp, the procedure is pretty simple and straightforward. Just open the group you want to mute and tap in the group's header (group name).  Tap on mute and select your preferred duration from the three available options.
